Overview
Cue is a local-first macOS app. This site explains how the cue-studio.app website and related services handle information before and after launch.
Website
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand website traffic and improve the site. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies and collect basic usage information such as page views, referral information, and browser or device details. If you email support@cue-studio.app, we receive whatever you send in that message. We do not send email contents, license keys, or media data to Google Analytics, and we do not sell personal information.
The Cue app
Screen recordings, editor state, and exports stay on your Mac. Speech-to-text for captions also runs on the device. Cue does not upload recordings or audio to finish an edit. After launch, activating a license may send your license key and device identifiers to Lemon Squeezy. That path is for purchase and activation, not for media.
What a project can contain
A .cue project can include the screen recording, optional webcam and audio tracks, and a cursor-metadata file. That file stores pointer position, clicks, and keystroke timing so the editor can line the cursor up with the video. It stays inside the project on your Mac and is not sent to Cue for editing.
