What is Cue?
Cue is a macOS screen recorder with a built-in editor. You record, then add a frame, cursor zooms, captions, and webcam on a timeline, and export from the same app.
When does Cue launch?
Soon. Download and checkout will open on this site when Cue launches.
Which Macs are supported?
macOS 15 Sequoia or later. On-device captions and HDR capture need Apple Silicon.
What does a license unlock?
Export. You can record and edit without buying. After launch, finishing a file requires a Monthly or Lifetime key from Settings.
Where do my files live?
Recordings are saved as .cue projects on your Mac (the default folder is ~/Cue). You can reopen them later. Nothing is uploaded for editing.
Are captions uploaded?
No. Speech-to-text runs on your Mac with WhisperKit. You can burn captions into the video or export SRT and VTT.
What can I export?
MP4, MOV, or GIF. You choose codec, resolution, and frame rate. Captions can burn in or go out as SRT or VTT.
What permissions does Cue need?
Screen Recording is required. Accessibility is needed for cursor and keystroke timing. Camera and microphone are optional.
How is Cue different from Screen Studio?
They are the same kind of Mac app: record, then polish. Cue uses monthly or lifetime licensing, keeps projects local as .cue bundles, and transcribes on device. Price and final terms land at launch.
How does licensing work?
Choose Monthly or Lifetime at checkout. You’ll get a key by email and activate it in Cue Settings. Purchase and activation go through Lemon Squeezy.
